INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY MARCH 8

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY MARCH 8

International Women’s Day has been celebrated worldwide on March 8 since 1921. On this day, the YOU Foundation, reminds you that this year’s theme is “#EmbraceEquity” to reflect the topic of equitable justice between women and men. In many places there are demonstrations demanding equal wages for women.

Elimination of inequalities and injustices, and equality between men and women underlie the idea of “Women’s Day.” Much has been achieved by activists over the decades, women’s right to vote being at the forefront. Nevertheless, women and girls around the world continue to be disadvantaged and dependent in many areas of life, and in many countries are severely oppressed or even enslaved.

Even schooling and education are often denied to girls. They are often unable to achieve a living income of their own.

In solidarity, let us continue to develop bold, innovative and social solutions and projects for #Women’sRights #HumanRights #EqualOpportunities #GenderEquality #FairShares to promote gender equity and create equality in professional, social and political life through equitable opportunities and fairer conditions.

There is still a lot of work to be done.

For over 20 years, the YOU Foundation’s projects have been focused on the mission and focus of #UNESCO, and the Education for Children in Need program, as well as the current #Education #Agenda2030:

Quality, inclusive and equitable education for people worldwide and for life.

In doing so, we work to create equal opportunities for women and girls to promote a more just and dignified world for ALL.

The YOU Foundation – Education for Children in Need, an initiative of UNESCO Special Envoy Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven, is committed to education for the poorest of the poor worldwide.
