Since 2001, the Marl based Medienhaus Bauer and its six newspapers have supported the Foundation. With a Christmas donation drive of the following newspapers: Recklinghäuser Zeitung, Marler Zeitung, Hertener Allgemeine, Stimberg Zeitung, Dattelner Morgenpost and Waltroper Zeitung, the company supports a special project each year. |
With the support of Volkswagen AG, the factory for two-wheeler mechanics in Nabelin, Burkina Faso is being further developed, professionalized and furnished with the necessary equipment. The VW AG supports this project to train young people and offer them more opportunities. Show Project |
Together with the Foundation, the BMW built an educational center in Nabelin, Burkina Faso. At this facility, young adults are trained in agricultural and welding techniques. Since its construction, the educational center has continually been expanded. Show Project |
SAP Deutschland supports emergency aid projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2014, a flood devastated this area and affected almost 1 million inhabitants. The complete construction support for the Baraka project comes from city planner Samih Sawaris, a philanthropist and project developer from Egypt. The federation of German architects supports our Baraka project in Senegal. The BDS unites approximately 5000 independent architects and city planners that are celebrated not only for their design winning constructions but also for their personal integrity and camaraderie. | |
The city museum of Düsseldorf supports the Baraka project in Dakar, Senegal. The museum, located in the heart of the Düsseldorf old town, displays the work of the architect students participating in the competition of the PBSA(Peter Behrens School of Arts Düsseldorf). This contest was initiated by the BDA with the goal of developing a prototype house for the Baraka project. This house will replace the current accommodations in the slums. | Students of the PBSA Peter Behrens School of Arts developed houses and city models for the Baraka project. The best models and concepts were introduced by the speaker of the international jury Prof. Juan-Pablo Molestina (PBSA). The competition winning students remain involved in the realization and implementation of this project. |
