In the small, underdeveloped kingdom of Lesotho, the AIDS epidemic, together with the emigration of the remaining men to neighboring South Africa, depopulated entire areas and deprived countless children of their parents.

Here we supported a German initiative to help orphans in the village of Malealea, which used modest resources to enable the children and their grandparents to survive and support them in attending school.
