Since the beginning of the pandemic, our partner in Ghana has been working tirelessly. Through these efforts, the team has ensured food security and established the distribution of hygiene products for the 400 trainees in Accra and Kumasi.
The COVID-19 lockdown has increased poverty, hunger, and social stigmatization. Through the pandemic, extremely poor families in remote and rural areas have lost their income sources and can no longer support their children in their educational endeavors. Furthermore, these families can not secure the necessary hygiene products such as face masks and hand disinfectants needed to protect themselves from COVID-19.
The governmental restrictions were also extremely strict in Ghana so that many people were not allowed to leave their homes. In the meantime, the restrictions have been eased so that training programs could resume. However, the necessary hygiene rules must be followed.
Thanks to your support, the 400 trainees in the urban areas of Accra and Kumasi received face masks and hand disinfectants!
