The time from birth to age eight is when children’s brains develop in remarkable ways and this period represents a crucial window of opportunity for education. According to UNESCO, early childhood care and education are much more than just preparation for elementary school.
In most cases, preschool in Africa requires a one-time enrollment fee and small monthly fees. For many parents, especially single mothers, paying these fees is impossible.
